Dynamic Artistry and Saint Louis Roots
Step inside our intimate gallery for an extraordinary journey where genre lines completely dissolve. This WCHOF Music Series performance invites guests to encounter a captivating fusion of jazz, classical, folk, and pop, showcasing the brilliant acoustic sextet The 442s. Featuring members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra partnering with the region's finest jazz musicians, the program highlights inventive original compositions and unexpected covers that defy category. The ensemble brings exceptional energy to our world-class museum. This concert transforms our sophisticated venue into a sanctuary of sound, where the complexity of the chessboard meets the architectural grandeur of classical refinement and modern swing.
Deepen Your Experience
Combining members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra with some of the Saint Louis region’s finest jazz musicians, The 442s are a genre-defying acoustic sextet named for the modern standard tuning of 442 Hz. Formed in 2012 around the inventive compositions of multi-instrumentalist Adam Maness, the group features Shawn Weil (violin), Shannon Williams (viola), Bjorn Ranheim (cello), Bob DeBoo (bass), and Kaleb Kirby (drums). Blending virtuosic musicianship, group vocals, and fearless improvisation, The 442s blur the lines between jazz, classical, folk, and pop music.
